The mining site operated by Kesoi Zrt. is located in Várkesző, in the western region of Hungary, near the Austrian border and the Rába River.
The region’s exceptional environmental conditions and volcanic soil contribute to the outstanding quality of the bentonite we extract. Our mine covers a basalt volcanic crater, where we access premium-grade basalt bentonite containing 70–90% montmorillonite.
Basalt bentonite of comparable quality is mined in Wyoming, USA, and on the island of Milos in Greece. Both regions characterized by volcanic terrain and geothermal activity. The presence of such high-quality basalt bentonite deposits within the European Union makes our mine unique in the market, particularly in terms of logistics, strategic location, and market accessibility.
Our company’s experts bring over 25 years of experience in the construction and mining industries. Our activities cover the entire value chain, from mineral extraction to post-sale transportation. Our product portfolio includes classified raw basalt bentonite in various grades. Upon request, we provide large-scale domestic and international transportation services.
